Making nail care at home easy and stress-free for you and your dog
Nailing Nail Trims (4 Week Class)
Nail trims are a must for any dog! This course is designed to help you and your pup build confidence and comfort with regular nail care. Whether your dog is nervous around clippers or you're new to grooming, we’ll guide you step-by-step with positive reinforcement techniques, conditioning and desensitization strategies, and hands-on practice. By the end of the course, you’ll be on your way to stress-free nail trims!
Prerequisites: Manners 1, Puppy 2, or instructor permission. Contact heather@trailreadydog.com for permission.
What to bring:
Your dog! Preferably hungry (we suggest feeding half of their usual meal prior to class) and having been given a potty break prior to class.
A portable mat or bed for your dog to lie on.
Flat buckle collar or body harness. Please no prong collars or slip/choke collars.
6 to 10 foot nylon leash. Please no flexi/retractable leashes.
Treat pouch. A fanny pack, climber’s chalk bag, or hardware apron will work well too!
Treats! At least 2 cups of tiny, pea-sized delicious treats. Your treats need to be more exciting than the environment, so hot dogs, ham, and cheese all work well. PLEASE USE NON-CRUMBLY TREATS. Dropped treats are very distracting for dogs training after you.
